How to Use Video to Share Your Story

Using video can be a great way to share your message with your community through social media, your blog or your website. In fact, having video on your site boosts search engine optimization (SEO) increasing your visibility to potential clients.

For some, stepping in front of a video camera can be more painful than a root canal. Insecurities about how you look, how you sound and what to say immediately pop up.

There are a few ways to move past these obstacles including:

  • Let go of perfectionism: You don’t need to have a Hollywood blockbuster budget or look like a supermodel to make a great video.
  • Go unscripted: Prepare your thoughts, but don’t try to memorize a script. Speaking in a conversational manner will appear more natural and keep viewers engaged.
  • Keep it short and sweet: A 30 to 60 second video can be a simple, easy way to spread your message while staying connected with your community.
